Does the DMV in CA, actually account for the amount of days that make a Person 17 1/2 or do they go by mont?

I wanted to know cause next month I turn 17 1/2 by month cause my bday is in August and I was wondering for those people in CA, and who know if the DMV actually account the days you are officially 17 1/2
