Talent Agent scams money from people and traps them in contract! What do I do?

I signed with a guy named Micheal D. Fields from MDF National Talent. I feel SOOO stupid! I paid for these photos because I was told I had to in order to receive work and signed a contract. The photos ended up being done by Micheal Fields (who at first said he was the talent agent) and with his digital camera. The photos are REALLY BAD. Now I'm stuck in a contract that I have to pay $5000 to get out of! And I haven't gotten any work and it's been months! I've found a ton of bad reviews from online, some with the same story as mine... some are A LOT worse (I consider myself lucky) and I can't believe he has gotten away with the things he has done to people for so long. What do I do to get out of this contract early so I can find my own work without having to pay him a percentage AND not have to pay him $5000? Do I have to just wait the year out even though I'm not getting any work at all? After I paid for the pictures he's not even keeping in touch and not even trying to find me work.
